Down by the seaside..

Such a huge metropole, but still giving its citizens the opportunity to be close to the nature and the wildlife, Istanbul is probably one of the most beautiful, surprising and emotional cities of the world.
The man here on the "iskele", -a poorly constructed peer built by the fishermen- is almost sitting on the surface of the sea, gazing at the large container ships go by, enjoying their big waves passing underneath him and then blow off to the shore behind.
This is close to Kuleli, picture taken around 4pm, a warm and sunny sunday, 2nd of November 2008.

I dedicate this picture to my dear friend Özgür. HB!

Citopsy

They say that places shape people and people shape places. One leaves a trace on the other and the shaping continues mutually, since ages.

What I call "Citopsy" is the post-event observation and capture of the shaping, or witnessing such a thing while it was happening when everybody else is looking elsewhere.

So be welcome, add your own citopsy report and soon we may build a collaborative archive to help realize the variety and the richness of real life around the world.
